DA increased 8% wef 1.1.2013 to Central Govt. Employees

The Union Cabinet today gave its approval to release an additional installment of Dearness Allowance (DA) to central government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners with effect from 01.01.2013 at the rate of 8 % over the existing rate of 72 %.

Thus, the combined impact on the exchequer on account of both DA and DR would be of the order of Rs.8629.20 crore per annum and Rs. 10067.36 crore in the financial year 2013-14 (that is for a period of 14 months from January, 2013 to February, 2014)


Note: No orders received about merger of 50% DA

Lunch hour Demonstration 

Central government employees are aware that the government unnecessarily delayed to issue DA order. To show our protest to the government , FNPO decided to conduct lunch hour demonstration every Head sub and branch Post office on 22/04/2013. After the demonstration our Brach/Divisional/Circle secretaries are request to send the Telegram to the Prime minister of India .

Previously the Department filtered the aspirants on the basis of merit and allowed 1:10 ratio for the examination. Hence the previous pattern and type of exam and standard of examination was easy. But this year onwards the selection process was changed and heavy competition is there for selection of Postal Assistant. The Examiner will set tough standard / medium hard level to test candidate         grasp of basic concepts of principles, Knowledge, application level, ability to solve the complex problems.
